TNT Tag is a more explosive version of Hot Potato, where players fight in a small arena as time slowly ticks down to boom.
TNT Tag is a fast-paced Minecraft minigame where players must avoid holding TNT before it explodes. At the start of each round, several players are randomly chosen to carry TNT and become "it." Their goal is to tag someone else to pass the TNT before the countdown ends. If they fail, they explode and are eliminated. The game continues in rounds until one player remains. TNT Tag combines parkour, strategy, and chaos for a thrilling survival experience.
Due to its name, it is sometimes confused with
TNT Run
, but unlike TNT Run, this gamemode is closer to PvP / Hide n Seek, whereas the former is more on-the-fly decision making and agility skills to overcome the changing platform.
TNT Tag originated as a popular custom minigame within Minecraft servers, most notably popularized by
Hypixel.
Inspired by the real-world game of tag, it adds explosive stakes with a ticking TNT twist. Players must avoid becoming "it" or quickly tag someone else before the timer runs out. Its simplicity, tension, and fast rounds made it an instant hit in Minecraft's competitive minigame scene.

TNT Tag is a straightforward game of tag, simply put. You hide or constantly are on the move to avoid being tagged by the players with the TNT Bomb. Players are often seen using the worldborder to quickly teleport to the starting point when chased.
